Product Overview

Enjoy bright, high-resolution images with the white Panasonic PT-DX820WU 8200-Lumen XGA DLP Projector. It features up to 8200 lumens of brightness and a 2400:1 dynamic contrast ratio, which work together to overcome light in most rooms and provide detail in dark areas of the image. Additionally, this projector sports an XGA 1024 x 768 native resolution for viewing detailed pictures or data. It is powered by a DLP chip system with a dual-lamp design. The PT-DX820WU includes a lens with a 1.8 to 2.5:1 throw ratio that can produce images from 50 to 600"; other lens options with varying throw ratio and screen size ranges are available separately.

With HDMI, DVI-D, 5-BNC, and VGA inputs, this projector supports different types of external video sources. It is controllable via Ethernet, RS-232, M3, or the included IR/wired remote control.

High Brightness of up to 8200 Lumens
The dual-lamp system uses two 310W lamps to provide up to 8200 lumens of brightness.
Low 30 dB Noise Operation in Normal Mode
Thanks to an integrated airflow control system and cooling fans, operation noise is as low as 30 dB, even when the projector is used with the lamps at full power in normal mode. The projector takes in air from the bottom and exhausts it from the back, eliminating openings in the front and sides to minimize noise leakage. The fans are also positioned to enable the fans to operate efficiently with slower rotation and less noise.
Dynamic RGB Booster Enhances Brightness and Color Reproduction
Panasonic's Dynamic RGB Booster helps enhance image quality by combining Panasonic's Vivid Color Control technology with a lamp modulation drive system. Images are analyzed frame by frame, and scene-linking and real-time modulation are used to achieve high brightness and vivid color reproduction.
Detail Clarity Processor Helps Produce Natural Details
This circuit is engineered to optimize the sharpness of each image based on the frequency levels of the extracted image information for natural, lifelike images.
System Daylight View 2 Enhances Color Perception
This technology is designed to optimize image quality to enhance the color perception of the projected image in bright rooms. It is designed to help provide comfortable viewing even in bright lighting, and allows viewers to concentrate on the images.
DICOM Simulation Mode
The PT-DX820WU offers a DICOM Simulation Mode that allows the projector to simulate the results of devices compliant with the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Part 14 standardized display function, for display of grayscale images. The DICOM Simulation Mode, which supports both Blue and Clear Base, adjusts the gradation between the minimum and the maximum luminance, so gradation is distributed optimally. This feature is optimized for displaying medical images such as X-rays, CAT scans, and MRIs, making the PT-DX820WU useful for non-diagnostic purposes such as lectures, academic meetings, and hospital conferences. This feature is recommended for use in medical schools for training and educational use only.
Rec. 709 Mode for HDTV Projection
Rec. 709 Mode is designed to achieve optimal color reproduction when images from an HDTV source are projected.
Waveform Monitoring
When the output level of the source device fluctuates due to the performance of the device or its cable connections, the original black and white levels of the image content cannot be reproduced correctly. With the PT-DX820WU, you can view the waveforms on the screen and adjust the settings either automatically or manually, as you prefer.
10-Bit Image Processing
The use of a 10-bit image processing system is designed to provide smooth tonal expression, such as natural-looking skin tones.
3D Color Management System
Changes in color saturation, hue, and brightness differ from color to color. 3D Color Management is designed to correct these changes to produce accurate colors that are close to the original images, even when viewed on a large screen.
Dynamic Sharpness Control with Digital Noise Reduction
Only the pixels in image areas with a small change in brightness level are sharpened. This is fashioned to reduce noise amplification to help deliver clear, natural-looking images. The Digital Noise Reduction feature has three mode selections to match the level of noise; it can also be turned off.
AI Scene Control
Lamp brightness is automatically optimized to match the characteristics of the picture in real time, helping to increase the dynamic range, accurately rendering black portions of the screen as deep, dark blacks, and achieving a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 2400:1.
2:2 Pulldown Mode
This mode projects 24p film content at 48 Hz to reduce judder.
sRGB Compatibility
Compatibility with the sRGB color space enables accurate color reproduction.
Up to 4000-Hour Lamp Life
The PT-DX820WU uses two 310-watt lamps with a replacement cycle of up to 4000 hours in normal mode to help reduce its total cost of ownership.
Dust-Resistant Optical Block
The optical block is hermetically sealed to resist the effects of dust and other particles in the air, making it possible to omit air filters from the optical section, thereby lowering its total cost of ownership.
Dual-Lamp System Helps Prevent Image Interruptions
In dual-lamp operation mode, if one lamp fails, the other lamp will continue to provide light for your images. Lamp Relay mode also operates the lamps alternately to enable 24/7 projection.
Liquid Cooling for the DLP Chip
The projector's liquid cooling system directly cools the DLP chip to help improve performance and enable operation up to 113°F. This allows the PT-DX820WU to be used in a wider variety of environments while stabilizing performance and keeping it quiet, even in harsh conditions. It contributes to the projector's relatively small size. The cooling system is also hermetically sealed, so you won't need to replenish the liquid.
Art-Net Compatible
The PT-DX820WU is compatible with the Art-Net protocol for lighting management, which lets you connect the projector to your lighting console and operate functions such as shutter on/off, input change, power on/off, and more, together with your light control.
Flexible Installation with Powered Lens Shift, Zoom, and Focus
The adjustment range of the powered horizontal/vertical lens shift function helps assure convenience and versatility during installation, letting you make adjustments with the remote control. The projector can also be rotated 360° vertically, allowing you to install it at nearly any angle you want to accommodate different installation conditions.
Geometric Adjustment for Non-Rectangular Screens
This function adjusts the image for projection onto spherical, cylindrical, and other non-standard screen shapes. You can make the adjustment using just the remote control, with no external equipment needed. Four-Corner Adjustment and Keep Aspect Off functions further simplify fine adjustment.
Multi-Screen Support System Connects Multiple Screens
The Multi-Screen Support System is designed to optimally adjust multiple screens, including edge blending, color matching, and digital image enlarging.
  • With edge blending, the edges of adjacent screens can be blended and their luminance controlled.
  • Color matching is designed to correct for slight variations in the color reproduction range of individual projectors.
  • Digital image enlarging, along with the built-in digital zoom function, allows images to be enlarged up to 10x, horizontally and vertically. Up to 100 projectors (10 x 10) can be edge-blended at a time to create large, multi-screen images.
Backup Input Setting Helps Assure Reliability and Optimize Performance
The Backup Input Setting allows the signal to be switched to the backup input signal when the input signal is disrupted, helping to ensure high reliability. This is well suited for control rooms, projection mapping, staging, and other applications where images shouldn't be interrupted.
Selection of Lenses
A variety of lenses add versatility and flexibility to projector installation. Lenses that adjust the throw ratio of the projector make it easy to adapt the projector to your installation site compared to fixed-lens projectors. The lenses are designed to attach and detach with ease.
Lens-Centered Design
The projector's lens-centered, symmetrical design helps ease installation, eliminating the need for special considerations when planning the installation site.
Designed for Easy Lamp Replacement
To help simplify maintenance, you can replace the lamp from the rear, making it easy to do so while the projector is still mounted or dual-stacked.
Picture-in-Picture Function
Two different image sources can be simultaneously displayed. The size and position of both windows can be changed for more flexible and effective image presentations.
